Some of the original artifacts from the Temple of Solomon are not mentioned in the sources after its destruction in 586 BCE, and are presumed lost. The Second Temple lacked the following holy articles:
- The Ark of the Covenant containing the Tablets of Stone, before which were placed the pot of manna and Aaron's rod
- The Urim and Thummim (divination objects contained in the Hoshen)
- The holy oil
- The sacred fire.
In the Second Temple, the Kodesh Hakodashim (Holy of Holies) was separated by curtains rather than a wall as in the First Temple. Still, as in the Tabernacle, the Second Temple included:
- The Menorah (golden lamp) for the Hekhal
- The Table of Showbread
- The golden altar of incense, with golden censers

Prayer
ReplyDeleteFather God, I praise You for who You are. You fulfil all of the voids and crevice's left by my earthly father. You always have been and always will be Jehovah Shammah (There).
I pray that You would forgive me over and over again for being short-sighted in faith and in my remembrance of Your constant faithfulness in my life.
I thank you Father God that You are just that, my Father, the All-in-All. You are every aspect of a Father that I needed and wanted in my earthly father, and You will be the same for my husband and our sons. Thank you for filling in the missing pieces in such a personal way and uniquely speaking to me through Your Living Word. Thank you for the presence of the and gift you give us in the Holy Spirit, to be by our side all of the time. Thank you for the details of Jesus' and His parents life that You are revealing to me in this study, so I may apply it to what You intend in my life for today.
I pray today that Your infinite love as God our Father would permeate our family, especially in the heart and minds of my sons. Help my husband to understand the depth of Your love and to be able to demonstrate, in his own way, with Your help, that Love to his sons. I pray that Your Holy Spirit will empower our family to be a willing and active remnant for the Kingdom of God. Help me Father then, to not hinder Your work in them! Amen
